This is the personal webpage of RMH. I'm a Cybersecurity student currently studying towards a CompTIA PenTest+ certificate. I've created this website mainly to document the development of my game, Insurrection 3012, but I also host a few other things. I have a few projects I'm planning and working on. One of which is modernizing the Morris worm from the late 80's to use more currently used protocols like SSH rather than RSH. I'll need to advance my C programming skills to complete that task so I'm gradually learning more and more C. Insurrection 3012 runs on the ioquake3 engine and programming for it also requires C.
Code3Arena was a Quake III Arena modding resouce site hosted by planetquake, and probably the best in existence. Unfortunately Code3 Arena was discontinued late into 2013 (or so I believe) and can only be accessed on the wayback machine or mirror sites like mine.
A pattern that you'll notice reoccur throughout my writing when talking about software is my avid usage and recomendation of small, simple, configurable free(dom) software, most of which align with the Unix philosophy.
Why does my website look like this? The reasoning behind the simplicity and general style of my website is as follows:
In an age where every search result is full of ai generated, low effort, bloated tech blog sites (or reddit), it's a relief to see a fast, uncluttered site thats made with at least a little bit of passion. Not saying I'm really a tech blogger or really come up in searches, but you get the idea.
